Dear Ford,
I would like to introduce myself as one of the 20 millions who have joined the boycott of new cars in Middle East especially Saudi Arabia .
You know that the global CREDIT CRUNCH have reached all fields countries. I will not explain to you the effects and the consequences of this crisis because you know about it more than I do. It is because of lack of consumer credit that everyone -especially car manufactures – is giving great sales and promotions to sell products and fight the crisis. The people of Saudi Arabia, and ME countries in general, gladly want to help you because of our relationship with you and your cars was and is still excellent. Yet, this good relationship changed 180 degrees recently because of your un-respectful dealers, who don’t feel for their customers. All what we got from them was:
1- Bad attitude toward customers( like they are doing us a favor by selling the car ! )
2- Delay and create excuses to cancel warranties or repairs that should be covered by them.
3- Unjustified & expensive after purchase services (regular maintenance is sometimes 1000% more than normal)
4- Expensive spare parts.
5- And the most important, the unreasonable increase in new 2009 cars, (while the prices dropped greatly all over the world)
Therefore, we in the Middle East in general and Saudi Arabia in particular, have decided to take action against them and boycott off buying new cars till we see better prices and better attitude and services. This boycott will propagate through the internet to everyone. It has now spread over to Oman, UAE, Egypt, Bahrain, and still going further.
In general, we in the Middle East have new cars (mostly of 2008 -2007-2006-2005) which means that we can wait years without buying again. We will look after our cars and use them carefully to avoid needing spare parts. We will do everything we can to keep on boycotting your dealers. This action is not because of you, but it is between us and your dealers.
So we hope you take action against those dealers, or change them with better ones.
Finally, rest assured that we will never choose between feeding our kids and driving a new expensive 2009 Ford .
Kind Regards
customers
PS: if the dealer is nothing but an acting agent of your policy, then we apologize to them and you are the one to blame here.
